Partners in Education Foundation (PIE) advances the investment of community partners in support of Knox County School system's individual and district needs. Funds raised through Skates and Plates elevate educators through training, further student education by awarding post-secondary scholarships to two students from every KCS high school and meet immediate needs that arise.

In the 2020-21 school year, Partners in Education Foundation has placed water bottle filling stations in schools and is providing John Maxwell's new leadership training resource to all district teachers. The Foundation also awards scholarships to Knox County seniors.

Skates and Plates is the annual PIE fundraiser. Held at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum in partnership with the Knoxville Ice Bears, the gala is the primary revenue source for the foundation. The 2021 event will be held virtually.
